The Canon EOS 1500D is a sleek entry-level cropped DSLR camera designed for beginners to start their photography adventures. At the heart of this versatile camera is an apt pairing of a 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 4+ image processor, which enables high resolution stills with clarity, reduced noise, and a flexible native sensitivity range from ISO 100-6400, which is expandable to ISO 12800, for working in a range of lighting conditions. The pair affords shooting continuously at up to 3fps for capturing moving subjects and recording Full HD 1080p video at 30fps. A 9-point AF system with a single center cross-type AF point for increased accuracy and focusing speed, and a contrast-detection focusing system, provides for refined autofocus precision whether shooting stills in live view or recording video.

The physical design features an optical pentamirror viewfinder for bright, clear viewing and quick-paced subject tracking. A large 3.0" 920K-dot rear LCD monitor serves as a bright means for live view shooting and image playback. In addition, the built-in Wifi with NFC enables wireless sharing of imagery to a linked mobile device and remote camera control via the Camera Connect app.

To begin your shooting for starters, this camera comes with kit zoom lens: the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III. This no-frills standard zoom provides a full-frame equvalent focal length range of 28.8 to 88mm, thus offering wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives. Optically, its 11-elements-in-9-groups design include one aspherical element to control spherical aberrations for higher clarity. The autofocus lens also offers manual focusing for more precise focus tuning. It does not have image stabilisation (IS).

The second accompanying lens in this kit, the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens from Canon, is a versatile telephoto zoom lens providing a full frame equivalent focal length range of 88-400mm. Optically, one ultra-low dispersion glass element helps reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range while also enhancing contrast and clarity. Optimised lens coatings have also been applied to ensure colour fidelity by countering the effects of lens flare and ghosting. It features an image stabiliser that lets you shoot at up to 3.5 shutter speed steps slower than would otherwise be possible and a STM stepping motor for fast, smooth and silent auto focus. Full-time manual focus is supported to permit fine-tuning of focus even when in AF modes and the front lens section does not rotate during focusing, benefiting the use of polarising filters.
