The Voigtlander 28mm f/2.8 Color Skopar SL II for Nikon F-mount cameras is an extremely compact wide-angle 28mm prime lens, with an angle of view of 74.8° on full frame cameras and an angle of view of 53° on APS-C sized cameras. A relatively bright and fast f/2.8 maximum aperture provides for better handling in low light situations and greater depth of field control. Optically, the lens features seven elements in six groups, including a double-sided aspherical element that helps maintain sharp imagery up to the edges. Complementing the optics, an all-metal helicoid unit, designed and manufactured to achieve appropriate torque and smooth operation, enables fine focus adjustment. The design of the focusing unit also provides a minimum shooting distance of 15cm to benefit shooting subjects close-up. Designed with a nod to the lenses released from the later half of 1960s, the lens is fully manual and constructed entirely of metal and glass. A large carved finger grip and knurled pattern with precision cutting combines nostalgia and aesthetics with tactility during manual operation. Built for wide-ranging compatibility, the lens can be used with old-fashioned film SLR cameras to digital SLR cameras. This lens comes with a black front rim or a silver front rim. The item sold here features the silver rim.
