The TS-E 17mm f/4 from Canon is an ultra-wide angle L-series lens with tilt and shift movements. The lens features +/- 12mm of shift for perspective control, allowing for the correction of converging vertical lines, while up to to +/- 6.5° of tilt will allow you to change the tilt of the focal plane. The tilt-shift mechanism can be rotated +/- 90° for movements in any direction, and a tilt-locking mechanism can be used to prevent accidental changes while shooting. This makes the lens particularly well-suited to architectural and interior photography. On the inside, the optical design features four Ultra-Low Dispersion elements to combat colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, and one aspherical element to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion. Each element also features a Subwavelength Coating to minimise flare and ghosting for improved contrast and colour. Finally, a floating optical system and a rear focus design help to maintain consistent image quality throughout the focusing range, from 25 cm to infinity.
