Combining a classic concept with new technology, Sigma's 35mm f/1.4
takes image quality to new heights. While it is designed for full
frame Nikon F-mount cameras, this wide angle lens can also be used
with APS-C models where it provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.
Through the incorporation of four Super Low Dispersion (SLD) and one F Low Dispersion glass
elements in its 13-elements-in-11-group optical design, chromatic and
spherical aberrations are markedly reduced to ensure optimal contrast
and colour accuracy and improve sharpness and rendition accuracy. In
addition, a Super Multi-layer coating applied to the elements reduce
flare and ghosting to achieve greater contrast and colour fidelity.
The lens has a very fast and bright f/1.4 aperture, making it
ideal for low light work and isolating subject matter using shallow
depth of field techniques. The nine-blade rounded diaphram further
contributes to a beautiful background blur with a smooth and pleasing
bokeh quality.
For focusing, Sigma's Hyper Sonic Motor makes quick work of the task,
working in a fast, smooth, and silent manner. A floating focusing
design means that optical quality stays high even when focusing at very
close distances. Full-time manual control is available anytime by
simply rotating the focus ring. Constructed from a combination of
Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material and metals, this robust lens
is built for precision and withstanding wide temperature variations.
Its brass bayonet mount ensures durability and greater mounting
accuracy. The lens is dust- and splash-resistant to provide you with a
peace of mind when operating in less than ideal conditions.
