The Sony E 20mm f/2.8 is a "pancake", wide-angle lens designed for APS-C format E-mount cameras where it provides a 30mm equivalent focal length. WIth a bright and fast f/2.8 aperture, this lens is well-suited for use in dim conditions and employing shallow depth of field techniques. Optically, three aspherical elements minimise the appearance of aberrations, including astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations. A rear focusing design contributes to faster autofocus speed and helps to achieve a minimum focus distance of 20cm.
In addition, the lens features a rounded seven-blade diaphragm that contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques. This super compact lens only extends about 2 cm from the mount, which results in a lightweight and compact camera system that is breeze to bring around.
