The RODE SC4 is a shielded adapter designed to enable connection between microphones with a 3.5mm TRS output and smartphones and tablets with a TRRS connector, such as when users want to connect their RODE VideoMic to their iPhone to record via the RODE Rec iOS-dedicated app. The SC4 is designed to work with Apple iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPad; however, it is also compatible with most Android devices. The grey on the gold-plated contacts represents the TRRS output. When used with stereo microphones, the right and left channels combine to a mono signal that is compatible with TRRS.
