The RF 1200 f/8L IS USM is a super telephoto RF-mount prime that offers quality optics, an unparalleled length in a compact and lightweight design, and a versatile feature set, thus rendering it an ideal choice for wildlife and sports application. Close-ups of wildlife or nearby subjects are possible with its 2.6m minimum focus distance and 0.34x maximum magnification. For sharper handheld and monopod-based shooting, the Optical Image Stabilisation compensates for up to 4.5 stops of camera shake. (Please note that in-body image stabilisation or Coordinated IS from EOS R-series bodies is not supported with this lens due to its long focal length.) Optically, this super telephoto lenss L Series Optics employs two fluorite, one Super Ultra Low-Dispersion (UD), and one UD element to eliminate chromatic aberrations for impressive clarity and colour accuracy. The advanced optical design also contributes to the more portable form factor of this mirrorless lens. In addition, Air Sphere and Super Spectra Coatings are applied on the elements to reduces lens flare and ghosting and maintain high contrast and colour accuracy. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth bokeh quality. An ultrasonic motor complements the optics with its fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus performance to benefit both photo and video applications. To speed up your workflow, two focus presets can be stored to enable immediate recall to a specified focus distance. Otherwise, the focus range limiter is available to improve responsiveness of the autofocusing by limiting the usuable focusing range. Manual focusing is also available in two forms: variable speed manual focusing that offers three options for improved focusing control and full-time MF for fine-tuning the focusing. For a lens with such a long focal length, it is relatively compact and lightweight at 3.14kg and will suit working atop a monopod or even short periods of handheld shooting. A built-in rotating tripod mount enables fast switching between vertical and horizontal shooting orientations. A weather-sealed design and fluorine coating on the front element provides for use in inclement conditions and easier cleaning and maintainence. Its distinctive white paint finish is heat-resistant. Filters can be used via the 52mm drop-in filter slot at the rear of the lens. And if the super telephoto length of 1200ms is not still not enough, this lens is compatible with the optional Extender RF 1.4x and 2x teleconverters for an even longer reach. The lens comes supplied with lens cap, dust cap, lens hood, drop-in screw filter holder 52 with protect filter, lens soft case and a canon lens wide strap.
