The Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM is a sleek medium-telephoto lens with a close-focusing performance that offers a minimum 26cm focusing distance at a maximum magnification of 1.4x. Combined with high image quality and a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, this fast and highly precise autofocus lens is ideal for both portraits and macro subjects. In addition, a Spherical Aberration control ring permits adjustments to shape bokeh effect and achieve soft outlines in images. The lens, on its own, features Optical Image Stabiliser (IS) with up to 5 stops of shake correction; when combined with an EOS R5 system with in-body image stabilisation, can provide up to 8 stops of coordinated shake correction, thus providing stable images with handheld shooting. When operating at the close focus distances, Canons Hybrid IS works to correct for angular and shift camera shake. The optics of the lens is complemented by dual Nano USM focus motors for quiet, fast, and accurate autofocus performance that benefits tracking moving subjects for shooting stills and capturing videos. Super Spectra coating is applied to reduce ghosting and flare when working in harsh lighting while a flourine coating on the front element helps prevent buildup of dust, moisture and fingerprints. For working in inclement environment conditions, the lens is sealed against dust and moisture.
