The FE 24mm f/1.4 GM from Sony is a fast wide angle lens well-suited to landscape, nature, and street photography. As part of Sony's G Master lens series, it is designed to help you capture sharp, high resolution imagery, with reduced spherical and chromatic aberrations. Designed for use with full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, it can also be used on APS-C models where it provides a 36mm equivalent focal length.
Featuring a maximum aperture of f/1.4, it is well suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. A rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques. Optically, it features three extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, to control spherical aberrations. Additionally, a Nano AR coating has been applied to limit ghosting and lens flare for increased contrast and improved colour when working in strong lighting conditions.
A Direct Drive SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) provides fast and quiet focusing, with responsive control for manual focus operation. The lens also features a dust- and moisture-sealed design and fluorine-coated front lens element to support shooting in inclement conditions. It is finished with a dedicated focus hold button, AF/MF switch, and manual aperture ring.
