The XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro from Fujifilm is a 120mm equivalent telephoto prime for Fujfiilm X-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, designed for close-up shooting. This long focal length is combined with a maximum aperture of f/2.8, a 25cm minimum focusing distance, and 1:1 life-size magnification for macro shooting. A Floating Focus System benefits close-up work by using two distinct focusing groups in order to provide faster performance and maintain image quality throughout the focus range, and a linear motor ensures quick, quiet and smooth autofocus performance that is particularly useful when working with fast-moving subjects or recording video. Additionally, a five stop-effective optical image stabilisation system minimises the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds.
Optically the lens features one aspherical element to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion, and one Super ED element alongside three extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for sharp, clear imagery. The lens is finished with a weather-sealed construction and features a fluorine coating on the front element to guard against moisture, smudging, and dust. This design also permits working in temperatures as low as -10°C. Lastly, a focus range limiter switch allows you to constrain the focus range to between 9.8" (25 cm) to 1.6', 1.6' to infinity, or the whole 25 cm to infinity range for more responsive focusing depending on the distance to your subject.
The XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro is also compatible with the optional XF 1.4x TC WR and XF 2x TC WR teleconverters for extending the effective focal length to an equivalent 171mm and 244mm, respectively.
