The 23" Quick-Open Folding Beauty Dish from Angler provides a distinctive, classic lighting option for portrait and fashion photographers in a foldable, portable dish. Unlike traditional rigid, metal beauty dishes, this silver folding beauty dish has connected metal support rods that easily snap in place. Each rod has a quick release button to collapse the structure for quick setup and teardown. The allure of a beauty dish compared to a softbox is that it produces slightly higher contrast in the light and dark areas, with more focused light on your portrait subject. This is useful for bringing out more sculpted facial features or dramatic lighting textures. The sixteen-sided shape provides natural-looking circular catchlights in your subject's eyes.
The silver interior lining intensifies the light output and specularity, but the inner deflector plate prevents the light from creating a hotspot in the center of the dish, making it possible to get up close to the talent without overexposing their face. Two removable diffusers are included to help soften and customize the light output. The inner diffuser attaches with snaps and has a built-in hot spot to further reduce the centered light. The front diffuser attaches easily with touch-fastening strips to add even more diffusion. Using the diffusers will disperse the output to soften the light and produce a wraparound glow. For even more control over the light output, the compatible Angler Quick-Open Fabric Grid (available separately) can be used to focus the light into a more narrow beam and add directionality.
