The Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. from Leica is a versatile wide-angle to portrait-length fast standard zoom lens designed for full-frame L mount mirrorless cameras such as the Leica SL Typ 601. With 18 elements in 15 groups the lens construction incorporates four aspherical elements and 11 anomalous partial dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range. The f/2.8-4 maximum aperture suits working in a variety of lighting conditions and offers conrol over depth of field. Optical Image Stabilisation further benefits working in low light with a 3.5 stop effective reduction in the appearance of camera shake. The autofocus motor coupled with an internal focusing mechanism makes operation fast, silent, and sharply accurate, for shooting both stills and video.
