Characterised by a well-rounded design apt for stills and video applications, the Leica SL2-S brings together traditional aesthetic with flexible imaging capabilities in this camera. The Leica SL2-S employs a 24.6 MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor and refined Maestro III image processor for a fast and smooth performance that enables continuous shooting of up to 25 fps, 4K video at up to 60 fps, Full-HD video at up to 180 fps, as well as a wide sensitivity range with reduced noise levels, especially at higher ISO settings. The camera design also incorporates a Leica Object Detection AF system, which utilises 225 selectable AF areas for fast and accurate autofocusing performance. Furthermore, this contrast-detection type focus method benefits both still and video recording modes, as well as subject tracking applications through the use of a Body Detection mode. A 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilisation system reduces the appearance of camera shake to help achieve sharpness even during handheld shooting. Additionally, using this sensor-shift stabilisation technology, the SL2 avails a Multishot mode that can capture and compile eight separate exposure to create a single 96MP raw or JPEG file for a highly detailed and colour accurate image. Emphasing a hybrid ethos, this SL2-S camera features separate Photo and Video menu systems for more intuitive settings control and navigation when working in either mode. Complementing the imagery capabilities, SL2-S features a 5.76m-dot EyeRes OLED EVF and a large 3.2" 2.1m-dot touchscreen LCD. For quick access to shooting settings, a top status LCD is featured. Also, a dual UHS-II compatible SD memory card slots offers greater file-saving flexibility. With the built-in Wi-Fi, imagery can be shared directly with a linked mobile device and remote control and shooting is possible via the Leica FOTOS app for iOS and Android. Additionally, Bluetooth LE provides a permanent connection between the mobile device and the camera that enables remote waking of the camera and automatic connection anytime within range. The cameras durable magnesium alloy construction is weather-sealed to accomodate working in harsh conditions and trying environments. The SL2-S comes supplied with its battery, battery charger, camera cover and a camera strap.
