This black-chrome edition Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens from Leica features a unique matte black finish along with a classic exterior design that recalls the first production run of this lens from 1959. Other distinct design elements include a scalloped focusing ring, red-coloured focusing distance scale in feet, and a finely-knurled aperture ring. The manual focus design provides a minimum focusing distance of 70cm with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:11.3. This is combined with a contemporary optical design that uses one aspherical element and one floating element, as well as anomalous partial dispersion and high refractive index glasses to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the focusing and aperture ranges for a high degree of overall sharpness and clarity. A fast f/1.4 maximum aperture makes this lens well-suited to working in difficult lighting conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. This black-chrome edition Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens is available in a limited edition of 500 pieces. In addition to the unique appearance of the lens, this edition also includes a metal front lens cap and a round metal lens hood.
