A high-speed portrait-length prime lens, the Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 ASPH. from Leica is notable for its extremely fast f/1.25 maximum aperture that offers selective control over depth of field, allowing you to isolate your subject matter, and benefits working in low-light conditions. Its short-telephoto 75mm focal length makes the lens well-suited to portraiture and close-up imaging, especially when combined with the shallow depth of field made possible by the bright maximum aperture. The lens features a sophisticated nine elements in six groups optical design, comprised entirely of anomalous partial dispersion and low chromatic dispersion glass to significantly reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations to produce clear, true-colour images. Two large-diameter aspherical elements are also used for improved sharpness and reduced distortion, and a floating element system is employed at the rear of the design to maintain consistent image quality throughout the focusing range from 2.8 (0.85 metres) to infinity. Finally, an 11-blade diaphragm produces an outstanding rounded bokeh quality. The lens is finished with a built-in extendable lens hood that shades and protects the front element to reduce lens flare and ghosting. The front of the lens is threaded to accept 67mm screw-in filters, and a tripod adapter is included, allowing you to work securely from a tripod.
