The incorporation of a single aspherical element reduces distortions and spherical aberrations for increased sharpness and clarity throughout the focusing and aperture ranges. Furthermore, astigmatism is markedly reduced and edge-to edge sharpness is improved throughout the aperture range. Happily, the optical design of this lens provides for a high degree of sharpness despite the large aperture while also reducing lens flare and ghosting. The bright f/2 maximum aperture is beneficial for working in dimmer conditions. The manual focus design features a minimum focusing distance of 70cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:21.9.
