The Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct from Nikon is a one-of-a-kind manual focus lens with the largest maximum aperture of any Nikkor: f/0.95. Designed to deliver new capabilities for the Z series mirrorless system, it offers extensive control over your depth of field and bokeh, making it ideal for portraiture. It is also an excellent choice for working in low-light situations such as when shooting astrophotography or photographing night landscapes. It has inherited the design concept behind the original AI Noct-NIKKOR 58mm f/1.2, a standard prime lens released in 1977, named for “Nocturne†(a musical composition inspired by or evocative of the night), and was popular for its ability to finely reproduce point light sources as point images. This new Noct features two anti-reflection coatings to combat ghosting and flare from multiple directions. A new Arneo Coat works to reduce vertical incidental light, while a Nano Crystal Coat manages diagonal incidental light. A precision large-diameter ground aspherical lens element with a high-refractive-index dramatically improves aberration correction. The lens also features a dust, dirt and moisture repellent Fluorine coating. Focus is commanded via the High Precision Focus Ring. Adjust focus with extreme accuracy and natural torque, ideal for both still and movie shooting. Physically the lens also features a lens information panel, allowing you to quickly confirm aperture, focus distance and depth-of-field. It also offers an expanded Fn button with assignable functions to match the Fn1/Fn2 buttons on the camera body.
