The EF 8-15mm supercedes the 15mm f/2.8 fisheye in the EOS L-series range. It provides excellent image quality, constant aperture throughout the zoom range and a strong, sturdy design suitable for shooting in challenging weather conditions. When paired up with professional full frame DSLR bodies, such as the 5D Mark II, there is the choice to capture circular or rectangular fisheye images. This choice function enhances creativity flexibility. With APS-C or APS-H sensors it produces a more traditional rectangular fisheye view, a zoom-lock mechanism on the lens allows the range to be limited to the best focal length without vignetting around the edge.
