A versatile telephoto zoom lens, the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5/6 IS II USM is a handy addition to your kit, allowing you to capture everything from portraiture to wildlife. Designed for use with full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, it is also compatible with APS-C models where it will provide a 112-480mm equivalent focal length range. NANO USM technology combines a fast, stills-optimised ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) with a smooth, silent video-optimised Stepping Motor (STM) for all-around focusing performance to suit both photography and video applications. Full-time manual focus control is also available when working in the one-shot AF mode. This is complimented by an Image Stabiliser system that compensates for up to four stops of camera shake, making it possible to work hand held in challenging lighting conditions and with slower shutter speeds. Optically one Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) element works to control chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, while a circular nine-blade diaphragm produces pleasing out of focus bokeh areas when working with selective focus and shallow depth of field. It also features a Lens Information Display that contains focus distance, focal length and image stabliser settings on an easy to read top-facing screen.
