The EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM mkII is an upgrade to one of Canons most popular versatile zoom lenses. Designed for use with full-frame DSLRs, it is also compatible with APS-C format cameras where it will provide a 38.4-168mm equivalent focal length range. Featuring a wide-angle to short telephoto range, a constant f/4 aperture and impressive build quality, this upgraded version II also features improved image quality. The new optical design features four glass-molded aspherical elements to limit vignetting for a notable enhancement in peripheral brightness, while an Air Sphere Coating reduces ghosting and flare for consistent light transmission. A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor AF system, internal focusing system and high-speed CPU ensure autofocus is fast and accurate, while built-in optical image stabilisation helps to compensate for up to 4 stops of shutter speed. A zoom lock switch prevents lens creep when the lens is not in use, and full-time manual focus override is available for making fine-tuned adjustments when working in the AF mode. It also features a rounded 10-blade aperture diaphragm for smooth out of focus bokeh elements when working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. As part of Canons L-series of lenses, the 24-105mm mkII also boasts dust- and water-resistant construction thanks to numerous seals. Additional fluorine coatings on the exposed front and rear elements help to prevent smudges and make cleaning easier.
