Part of the Sigma Art Line whose goal is to deliver remarkable optical performance that supports artistic and creative applications, this Sigma 35mm f/1.2 DG DN Art lens is a wide angle prime lens designed for full frame Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras. On a APS-C model, it provides an equivalent focal length of 53mm. This 35mm lens is the first of Sigma prime lenses to feature a very bright and fast constant f/1.2 maximum aperture that delivers high image quality and selective focus effects, as well as benefits working in challenging lighting condition. A combination of three special low dispersion (SLD) glass elements and three aspherical elements, including a double-sided one, reduce a range of aberrations to achieve improved clarity and colour accuracy, and increased sharpness and rendering accuracy. The optics is complemented by a large Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) that delivers a fast and quiet autofocus performance. Switch over to manual control anytime by simply rotating the focus ring. The manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for silent aperture operation to reduce noise while recording video. In addition, the built-in autofocus-lock (AFL) button can be flexibly assigned more functions to increase the range of available operations on the lens. A rounded eleven-blade diaphragm affords a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality. For increased robustness and working in harsh environmental conditions, the lens is constructed to be weather resistant with a brass bayonet to improve mounting accuracy and rigidity. Furthermore, the front element of the lens is coated with a water- and oil-repellent coating.
