The 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is a fast, versatile prime lens designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, where it will provide a 45mm equivalent focal length. The f/1.4 maximum aperture makes this lens an ideal choice when working in low-light conditions, and offers precise control over depth of field. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm ensures pleasing bokeh. Optically one aspherical element and one double-sided aspherical element work together to reduce spherical aberrations, and a high-refractive index element minimizes colour fringing and chromatic aberrations. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to control lens flare and ghosting. Autofocusing is fast and near-silent, thanks to a stepping AF motor. The lens body is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations.
