Part of the Sigma Art Line whose goal is to deliver remarkable optical performance that supports artistic and creative applications, this Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro Art lens is a short-telephoto prime lens optimised for macro use for full frame Sony FE-mount mirrorless cameras. On an APS-C model, it provides an equivalent focal length of 157.5mm. Its characteristic macro design, which achieves a minimum focusing distance of 29.5cm and a working distance of 14cm, enables a life-size 1:1 reproduction ratio for accurately rendering close-up subjects. Optically, the incorporation of one special low dispersion (SLD) glass element reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to achieve improved clarity and colour accuracy. In addition, a Super Multi-Layer Coating is applied to enhance the image quality through suppression of lens flare and ghosting, thus promoting better contrast and colour fidelity in harsh lighting conditions. The optics is complemented by an integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) that delivers a fast and quiet autofocus performance beneficial to both sills and video applications. A focus limiter switch allows you to limit focusing range within three zones to achieve faster and more responsive performance. Featuring a refined exterior that promotes intuitive and tactile control, the lens features a dedicated focus mode switch, a customisable AFL button, and a manual aperture ring, which can be de-clicked or locked. Additionally, the built-in autofocus-lock (AFL) button can be flexibly assigned more functions to increase the range of available operations on the lens. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm affords a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality. For increased robustness and working in harsh environmental conditions, the lens is constructed to be weather-resistant with a brass bayonet to improve mounting accuracy and rigidity. The lens comes supplied with a lens cap, rear cap, lens hood and a lens case.
