The Loxia 35mm f/2 Biogon T* Lens from Zeiss is a fast and bright wide-angle prime for full-frame Sony E mount mirrorless cameras. Loxia lenses feature a manual focus design for use with electronic viewfinders, and a manual aperture ring that can be de-clicked for silent operation, making them an excellent choice for filmmaking. With a near-symmetrical optical layout based on the Biogon optical concept the Loxia 35mm incorporates one element made from anomalous partial dispersion glass for a marked reduction in chromatic aberrations and distortion. A Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to the lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting. The all-metal lens barrel incorporates engraved depth of field scales, and a 180° focus throw offers fine-tuned control over focusing position. A weather-resistant gasket is also included at the lens mount for added protection from dust and moisture. Lastly it is fitted with an electronic interface that conveys all EXIF data to the camera and can also be configured to automatically activate camera-based focusing aids during use.
