The EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS from Elinchrom offers control of your lighting setup through visual feedback with the display of power levels and modeling lamp settings. The large LCD display shows each strobe unit, power settings and allows for full control of all strobes. It features Hi-Sync technology with the ability to go beyond the X-sync of your DSLR camera, with up to 1/8000s shutter speed. Freeze motion, overpower the sun, darken your background or use a wider aperture. The ODS (Over Drive Sync) setting allows for customization of the Hi-Sync (HS) timing to change where the slice of light is taken out of the flash curve. This means you have the ability to customize the HS lighting by moving the slice of light from the max light output to a lower light output farther into the flash curve. This could be particularly useful when shooting portraits with a wide aperture where the lighting needs to be subtle. Check if your EL unit is compatible with Hi-Sync here. It is not only a trigger device; it is also a remote control for up to 10 Elinchrom flash units with built-in receivers. Control and set the flash power and the modeling lamp in 4 groups or individually. The EL-Skyport HS has a total of 20 frequency channels that can be used for either Normal or Speed mode. Users can instantly distinguish which sync mode they are in as the backlit display glows green for normal mode, and red for speed mode. A distance range of 200 m (656 ft) outdoors and 60 m (196 ft) indoors offers flexibility in a variety of situations. No extra receiver is necessary. Any flash unit with EL-Skyport capability, either built-in or external (like Transceiver RX for Style RX, Digital RX and Ranger RX series) is compatible. The Sony foot of the Transmitter HS will fit most of the actual Sony camera range, however some models may require the Sony adapter from Alpha to Multi-Interface shoe, which is available from Sony. The Skyport Plus HS runs on two AA batteries.
