Designed for use with Nikon's DX-format cropped sensor DSLR cameras, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR from Nikon is a versatile wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 27-210mm. This broad zoom range makes this lens a good choice for travel, or when you want to carry just one lens that can do it all.
The optical design features an extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element and an aspherical element to combat chromatic aberration for sharp, clear images. This is complimented by Nikon's Super Integrated Lens Coating (SIC) for improved light transmission and reduced ghosting and lens flare. A rounded 7-blade diaphragm produces smooth out-of-focus areas.
A Silent Wave Motor (SWM) autofocus system ensures autofocusing is fast, precise, and near-silent, and an Internal Focus system maintains the lens length while focusing. Manual autofocus override is also available and makes it possible to instantly switch to manual focus without taking your eye off your subject. This is combined with Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilisation for up to four stops of shake compensation, allowing you to capture sharper handheld images.
