Wide-angle Prime Lens
A FX-format prime lens with a wide angle of view, the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED Lens from Nikon is designed to produce sharp, distortion-free images. A fast f/1.4 maximum aperture makes it well-suited to working in low light situations and with shallow depth of field techniques. It is also compatible with DX-format cameras where it will provide a 61º angle of view.
The optical design uses twelve lens elements in 10 groups including 2 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) and 2 Aspherical lenses, as well as Nano Crystal Coating to reduce chromatic aberrations, ghosting and flare. A Rear Focus design with Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures autofocus is fast, precise and quiet, while eliminating front barrel rotation and lens extension. When precise manual focus control is required a M/A switch allows for fast switching between manual and autofocus operation, and manual focus is available at all times, even in AF mode. The lens also features a rounded 9 blade diaphragm to produce attractive out of focus 'bokeh' areas.
