The Contax Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar T* 300mm f/4 AEG lens is a telephoto prime offering Contax/Yashica-mount cameras a long focal length and high speed in a relatively compact form, rendering it ideal for capturing distant subjects. It offers marked monochromatic correction and excellent image quality at full aperture. The mechanical construction of the lens complements the optics, offering easy handling despite its long focal length and a favourable opto-mechanical tramission ratio of the focusing helicoid that provides the photographer with more flxibility. An integrated lens hood helps to shield the lens from stray light to reduce flare and can be pushed back for transport. For use with tripod, a tripod socket is positioned approximately at the centre of gravity of the lens and camera system for good balance and the camera can be swung through from horizontal to vertical shots.
