Premium Compact Digital Camera with Zoom Lens

Paired with a zoom lens with a wide focal range, the Leica V-Lux 5 is a versatile premium compact camera suitable for use on travels to capture those memorable sights and moments.  

The V-Lux 5 features a large 20.1MP 1" CMOS sensor that enables high resolution stills and UHD 4K video recording while the wide sensitivity range supports working in a variety of lighting conditions. Furthermore, the imaging and processing capabilities afford fast autofocus performance and continous shooting rates of up to 12 fps or 30 fps at 8MP in the 4K Photo modes. In addition, 4K video recording at 30p in the MP4 format at 100 Mb/s and creating 8MP stills from your video playback are available. Post Focus, a unique focusing method enabled by the 4K capabilities, work in conjunction with the contrast-detection focusing system to record images as a 4K  MP4 file at 30 fps while shifting focus points throughout the burst shooting to offer a range differently focused imagery. You can then choose one or more images with a specifc focus region to be saved as 8MP JPEG file via tapping on the region of focus. This technology lends itself to creating focus stacked images to achieve greater depth of field by blending together images of varying points of focus.

A key contributor to the versatility of V-Lux 5 is its impressive 16x  zoom DC Vario-Elmarit ASPH. lens, which boasts a broad wide-angle to super-telephoto 25-400mm equivalent focal length range that is coupled with a maximum aperture range of f/2.8-4 to suit working even in dimmer conditions. The incorporation of aspherical elements in its optical design minimise spherical aberrations and distortions all through the zoom range for consistently sharp and clear imagery.

Resembling the form of a SLR, the V-Lux 5 also features a high resolution 2.36m-dot, 0.74x magnification electronic viewfinder for comfortable eye-level monitoring. A integrated flip out and tilting rear 3.0" 1.24m-dot touchscreen LCO enables live-view shooting, image playback, intuitive menu navigation and working from different angles. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable wireless sharing of imagery or remote control of the camera from a linked smart device via the Leica FOTOS app. The compatible rechargeable lithium-ion battery is supplied and charging in-camera is via the micro-USB port.

Other accessories supplied include a USB cable, neck strap, lens cap with string, lens hood and hot shoe cover.
