Covering a wide-angle to short-telephoto range, the Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. from Panasonic is a versatile zoom lens for L-mount mirrorless cameras, featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture. It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 36-157.5mm equivalent focal length range.
Optically, the lens uses four aspherical elements, including two of extra-low dispersion glass, to reduce distortion and aberrations throughout the zoom range, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. It offers a 1:2 half life-size magnification ratio and a minimum focusing distance of 30cm. This is complimented by an Optical Image Stabiliser that works to combat the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting, and also supports 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 for increased stabilisation performance.
An AF/MF switch makes it easy to switch between focusing modes and a zoom lock switch can be used to prevent the lens from extending when not in use. It is finished with a weather-sealed splash, dust, and freezeproof design that benefits working in difficult weather conditions down to -14°F.
