Covering a wide-angle to normal focal lengths, the compact NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 by Nikon is a versatile and sleek zoom with a retractable design for slim form factor that suits walkaround and travel shooting applications. Its optical design features two aspherical extra-low dispersion elements, in addition to three aspherical elements, to help reduce a range of aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range in order to achieve high image sharpness and clarity. A Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to control flare and ghosting for greater contrast and colour rendering in bright and backlit conditions.

Complementing the optics, a stepping motor provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override to suit both stills and video applications. Benefitting working with fast continuous shooting rates, this Nikkor Z zoom features a specialised electromagnetic aperture mechanism to provide greater exposure control stability. A programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings, while a rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality when using the shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. The lens barrel is both dust- and moisture-resistant to suit working in inclement conditions.
