The Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 lens is a sleek and compact standard-length prime designed for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras. It features a 50mm focal length that suits landcape, portraiture, street photography and a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture that provides for better shallow depth of field control. On APS-C models, this lens provides a 75mm equivalent focal length. Optically, this nine-elements-in-eight-groups lens features three aspherical elements which includes an extra-low dispersion element and one ultra-high refractive index element to minimise chromatic aberration and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour accuracy.

This Lumix S lens offers high resolution sharpness and performance to support 4K video. A linear auto motor suppresses focus breathing to deliver smooth, precise, and quiet focusing performance. In addition, a linear focus ring control for mechanical-based follow focus systems enables the focus to move at a constant speed in accordance with the rotating angle of the focus ring while the micro-step aperture control for video applications affords smooth exposure changes.

For use in harsher environments, this lens is dust-, moisture, and freeze-resistant. It has a rounded nine-blade diaphragm which contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when using selective focus technique. Front and rear lens caps as well as a lens hood are supplied with the lens.
