This Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L DS USM sets itself apart from Canon's other RF 85mm f/1.2L lens with improved bokeh. This large aperture mid-telephoto prime lens ideal for professional wedding and portrait photographers shooting on EOS R system full-frame mirrorless cameras. With its large f/1.2 aperture, it produces attractive out of focus areas and brings your subject into sharp focus. This unique version of the portrait-length prime features a DS (Defocus Smoothing) coating that further softens and smooths the look and feel of the out of focus areas of an image while retaining the sharpness on the in-focus regions. This effect is particularly beneficial for shallow depth of field applications as it occurs at the wider aperture settings from f/1.2 down to around f/3.2.

Optically, the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM achieves high resolving power with a large diameter mount and short back focus. A Blue Spectrum Refrative Optics element is used to nearly eliminate chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, while an ultra-low dispersion element and one aspherical element further reduce aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness. These individual elements also feature an Air Sphere Coating to combat flare and ghosting. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps to produce attractive out of focus areas.
 
This is complimented by a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) that ensures autofocus is fast and quiet, with full-time manual focus override. It features a minimum focusing distance of 85cm. The lens also features a front lens control ring that provides customised control over the aperture, shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation for intuitive shooting.  As a member of Canon's esteemed L-series it is finished with a dust and water resistant construction.

A lens cap, a dust cap, a lens hood, and a lens case are supplied with this telephoto prime.
