The robust Canon EOS 1D X Mark III professional DSLR benefits from a redesigned full frame 20.1MP CMOS sensor and updated DIGIC X image processor to deliver imagery performance characterised by speed, sensitivity and precision that will excel in both stills and video applications in a wide range of settings. The pairing of the sensor and processor enables up to 20 fps continuous shooting in live view or 16 fps with the viewfinder, and a 1000-frame-sequence buffer when shooting iaw+JPEG. The complementary broad native sensitivity range of !SO 100-102400, which can be expanded to an even more impressive 50-819200, suits working in a variety of lighting conditions. In addition, the sensor is integrated with a newly designed low pass filter to eliminate moire and other aliasing for a cleaner image quality. Also contributing to the speed of the EOS 1D X Mark III is the refined EOS iTR AF X autofocus system; it employs 191 points, of which 155 are cross-type ones, for fast and accurate focus on a variety of subjects in various lighting conditions. Deep Learning Technology utilised by this AF system permits refined tracking capabilities, including Head and Face Detention, for subject recognition accuracy. Furthermore, when working in live view, Dual Pixel CMOS AF employed 3869 manually selectable points and affords a smooth and natural focusing quality in a way similar to how a camcorder acquires focus.Besides the high performance stills shooting, this DSLR also boasts competent video capabilities: ability to record DCI 4K content internally at up to 60 fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour, Full HD at up 120 fps for slow motion playback, and raw 5.5K at 60 fps. Other features, which includes Canon Log Gamma to provide for improved colour grading control in post-production, Movie Digital IS, peaking, and a focus guide, further contributes to stable, sharp and high quality recordings.

A robust and durable body houses the imaging capabilities; its magnesium alloy construction is weather-sealed to guard against dust and moisture for working in harsh environments. Dual CFexpress memory card slots are incorporated in the body design to support the fast-continuous shooting rates and high-resolution video recording, offering a flexible means for file storage and sorting. An enhanced optical pentaprism viewfinder collaborates with an updated mirror drive mechanism to reduce blackout while the rear 3.2" 2.1m-dot LCD touchscreen provides an intuitive means for playback and menu navigation. Also on the rear of the body is a Smart Controller--a touch-sensitive button--for fast and intuitive point selection while shooting. Additionally, wireless connectivity is enabled by the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and GPS while a built-in Ethernet port allows for faster wired LAN file transferring.
