Wide-angle to Short Telephoto Zoom Lens for Sony E cameras

The Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD lens is designed to provide APS-C-format Sony E-mount cameras with a versatile 35mm equivalent zoom range of 25.5 to 105mm that suits a wide variety of photographic scenarios from close-ups, portraits, street snapshots to landscapes. A complementary bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture supports working in dimmer lighting conditions and affords increased control over depth of field. With a minimum focusing distance of 19cm at the wide-angle end and 39cm at the telephoto end, the lens enables capturing very close-up subjects.

Optically, a combination of one hybrid aspherical element, two LD (low dispersion) elements, and two GM (glass molded aspherical) elements correct a variety of aberrations to a high degree for improved clarity and colour accuracy. Designed with Tamron's responsive RXD stepping motor unit, this zoom lens delivers quiet, fast, and precise autofocus performance that benefits stills and video applications. The lens features a VC image stabilisation, which facilitates steadier handheld shooting and sharper shooting in low-light conditions. With a rounded nine-blade diaphragm, the lens offers a pleasing bokeh quality. The lens's moisture-resistant construction benefits operation in inclement weather conditions and a fluorine coating on the front lens element protects the lens against dust, fingerprints, and smearing
