In addition, a micro-HDMI port permits 10-bit 4:2:2 recording to an optional external recorder. The X-E4's backside illumination sensor (BSI) design contributes to smooth tonal rendering, improved low-light performance, and a wide native sensitivity range of ISO 160-12800 for working in a variety of lighting condition. Furthermore, the sensor design houses a hybrid autofocus system, combining 425 phase-detection points with a contrast detection system for fast and accurate autofocus performance in a variety of lighting conditions down to -7 EV.
Reminiscent of a rangefinder, the X-E4 features a sleek and simplistic styling that renders it distinctive in Fujifilm's lineup. Its 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder is positioned at the top corner to enable comfortable eye-level viewing while its rear 3.0" touchscreen LCD has a 180°tilting design to suit working from various angles. Wireless connectivity in the form of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permits wireless sharing of images to mobile device as well as enable the use of the connected device to remotely control the camera. The accompanying XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR from Fujifilm offers a 50mm equivalent normal-length perspective in a compact and portable design that is suited for travel, wedding, editorial and documentary photography. It focuses down to 30 cm for shooting close-up subjects. Also, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm provides a pleasant bokeh effect.
Optically the lens uses two aspherical elements and three ED element to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations to achieve greater sharpness and accurate rendering. The optical design is complemented by a linear autofocus motor that ensures focusing is accurate, fast, and quiet, making it well-suited to capturing both stills and video; it also provides minimal focus breathing. The lens features a weather-resistant construction that withstands against dust and moisture, for peace of mind when working in difficult conditions, and can operate in temperature as low as -10°C.
This versatile lens comes supplied with front and rear lens caps, a lens hood, and a wrapping cloth.
