Progear Photo-story 2017 finalist Neil Silverwood tells the tale of a practise deep underground rescue that turned real when one of the crew took a tumble, breaking his leg.
“I’d asked the person organising the practise rescue if I could do it and they said ‘yep fine but if there is a real rescue you have to put your camera down’ - Every photographer I’m sure would do the same, I ignored that advice and took the photos” said Silverwood.
The story took place beneath the surface across 5 hour period.
